Mission statement

This is the IfSE Chapter Early Careers Forum (ECF).

Providing a gateway for individuals new to Systems Engineering to broaden their engagement with the Systems Engineering community, the Early Careers Forum hopes to inspire and motivate its members to collaborate and influence future SE best practice and strategy.

Objectives

The objectives of the ECF are composed of five functions:

  1. Advise
    • Provide advice to the UK Chapter Board, UKECF members and Systems Engineering stakeholders in matters relating to early careers Systems Engineering individuals within the UK.
    • Provide advice to early careers individuals about learning and development.
  2. Promote
    • To promote collaboration between individuals new to Systems Engineering to develop further understanding and application of Systems Engineering throughout the UK
    • Connect and engage with individuals new to Systems Engineering at conferences, events, careers fairs or symposiums etc.
    • To promote Systems principles to early career individuals in other disciplines.
  3. Support
    • Endorse and support early careers representatives at IfSE Regional Communities/Groups.
  4. Challenge
    • Challenge and influence, where appropriate, the direction of IfSE for the benefit of Systems Engineering development within the UK
  5. Communicate
    • Enable and support communication between members of the UKECF, the wider international Systems Engineering community and the early careers communities of other professional engineering institutes.
