The UK Defence Working Group was set up in February 2024 to address Systems Engineering as applied to UK Defence. Membership is open to those with a legitimate interest in UK Defence matters. This includes customers, suppliers and advisors.
Mission Statement
The purpose of the UK Defence WG is to understand and articulate the specific issues surrounding Systems Engineering as applied in the UK defence domain.
General Information
The UK Defence Working Group has provided a submission to the UK Strategic Defence Review in 2025 and then started work on a white paper concerning Systems Engineering in UK Defence. It has also reviewed material concerning the evolution of UK defence acquisition approaches.
The Working Group relaunched at a meeting on 31 July 2025 and is refocussing its white paper to reflect and respond to the evolution of UK Government policy concerning defence and its implications on Systems Engineering within the UK.
The Working Group meets typically every month to two months.
